Kingsport sucks
After dinner we decided to run to Cootie Brown's for some of their amazing chocolate cake. I was so disappointed when we got there and it's CLOSED! What the heck, Kingsport! Cootie's has some of the best food in the Tri-cities, but you'd rather pay the same prices for the crappy nasty food at Chili's? I do not understand this. I am going to miss that place so much! No more veggie-burger after walking the Greenbelt. So sad.

It's just like how that great Indian place got run out in favor of nasty yucky Crazy Tomato. Which makes no sense when there is a fabulous local Italian place right across the road at Raffael's. Hopefully which (knock wood) Raffael's won't get run out next.

Supposedly they're trying to reopen another Cootie Brown's in Kingsport, according to an article I read in the Times-News. They didn't give a reason for closing or anything, it's kinda weird.

And that Indian place was awesome and I miss it, for all that it just moved over to Johnson City.

*gasp* Cooties is gone! As in gone gone! Noooooooo. That was the coolest looking restaurant up there too. And they are good. And they always seemed to be doing a good amount of business. What's up with that?

my father says the property owners refused to renew Cootie's lease in kingsport. i suspect that means their property value is going up with all the construction in the area and that they are going to try to get more money from someone else. jerks. the bottom like is it's NOT Cootie's fault and they deserve our continued support!!! hopefully they'll find a new place soon.

as for Sitar -- when that happened i heard the story from one of the owners. apparently another family, 'friends' of theirs, were going to open another Indian restaurant in Bristol but changed their minds and decided to do Johnson City instead. Sitar said please don't, it'll draw our business away, but the other guys (Sahib) did it anyway. to complete Sitar moved to JC -- but apparently that wasn't enough either because they have recently closed as well. Sahib is fine but it's no better and a lot pricier so all in all it's a bad deal. argh.
